WHAT IS COSMETIC TATTOOING?
Cosmetic tattooing, also referred to as semi-permanent makeup or micropigmentation, is the process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face.

HOW LONG DOES COSMETIC TATTOOING LAST?
Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every year to keep the strokes looking crisp and fresh. Frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas. Please note that final results CAN NOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your second session and make any changes necessary. Multiple sessions are normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures, with each new procedure requiring a minimum of 2 visits. Your second session can be booked no sooner than 6 weeks after the initial appointment. Additional sessions will be charged according to our current pricing.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you are used to. If you regularly get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded or tinted, please do so at least 3 days before your appointment. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we can remove them. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure. We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen.
Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure. It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure.

HOW WILL I LOOK AFTER MY APPOINTMENT? WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE?
Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. This will gradually lighten during the complete healing process. Redness and swelling is minimal. Please view our detailed aftercare instructions here.
-

WILL IT HURT?

To keep it as pain-free as possible we use a maximum-strength topical numbing cream. Although pain varies from person to person, most of our clients experience little to no pain during the procedure.

WHEN SHOULD I GET BOTOX/FILLERS?
You can get Botox & fillers 4 weeks prior to your appointment or 2 weeks after your appointment.

CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I HAVE ALLERGIES?
If you have any allergies, please check with us prior to booking an appointment. We will provide you a list of ingredients of all products used.
-

CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IF I ALREADY HAVE COSMETIC TATTOOING?
Yes! Please email us with super duper CLEAR photos of your tattoo, preferably in natural lighting so we can recommend the best course of action to achieve the best results for you!

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?
Two treatments are usually needed, at least 6 weeks apart. With most procedures, the color looks dramatically lighter after the first week. Some clients prefer this, while others opt for a bolder look. At the second treatment, we will assess the color retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go darker and add more density at your next appointment.

CAN I EXERCISE AFTER GETTING TATTOOED?
You must avoid working out for 10-14 days following your cosmetic tattoo appointment. Light exercising is allowed (minimal sweating), but you MUST clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water as soon as you are done exercising. The salt in the sweat will fade the pigment very quickly and give poor results.

CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I AM PREGNANT OR NURSING?
As a precaution to avoid any complications, we do NOT perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant or nursing women.
-

CAN I GET TATTOOED IF IM ON ACCUTANE?
Unfortunately no, you must have been off Accutane for at least 12 months. We recommend talking to your doctor for the best information for your personal circumstances.

CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I USE RETINOL?
You MUST stop using Retinol 2 weeks prior to your appointment and avoid using it for the 2 weeks following your appointment.

HOW WILL MY COSMETIC TATTOO LOOK IN THE FUTURE?

During your appointment, we will analyze your skin's undertone to anticipate how pigment colors will fade in the future. We will also mix pigments to ensure color blends well with your existing eyebrow and hair color. The majority of our clients' cosmetic tattoos stay true to color and lighten naturally over time. There are some cases, however, where colors may fade to different tones according to the individual’s response to the pigments (like lifestyle and iron deficiencies). Many factors affect these changes. At your next appointment, we will re-analyze how your body has responded to the initial color. Special formula alteration to correct the color and to prevent further color change is made at this time. Your eyebrow tattoo will eventually look softer and have more of a "powdered" look. This happens with all clients as the skin ages. To keep your hair strokes looking good, a refresher appointment is suggested every year . Results vary with each client.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT LONG TERM CARE?

A good sunscreen should be applied daily AFTER healing and is required to help keep color true. As with any tattoo, sun exposure will make the color soften faster. Fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, and if any chemical peels were done after your procedure. If you are planning a chemical peel, laser treatment or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had a cosmetic tattoo. Careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area.

IS THE STUDIO AND EQUIPMENT SAFE?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on having an immaculate and sterile studio space. We only use single use, disposable needles and supplies. This means that each set-up for each new client is discarded safely afterwards. Each of our stations are thoroughly disinfected before opening and after each procedure throughout the day.

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE?
You must be 18 years old to get any tattoo.

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
Booking can be done through our website, call, text, or email.

HOW MUCH IS THE DEPOSIT?
A $200 deposit is required to book an appointment. The deposit is non-refundable and goes towards the total amount of your appointment.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND WITH ME?
It is highly recommended to come alone as we have very limited space. You may bring one person with you to your appointment. Our studio is quite small, has a limited amount of seating and a very relaxing vibe. Please be mindful of other artists working. We are also unfortunately not able to accommodate anyone under 18 due to tattoo studio laws.

WILL COSMETIC TATTOOING WORK WELL FOR ME?

If you have extremely oily skin, the microblading could potentially heal a bit more diffused and powdered. We STRONGLY recommend the use of powder free oil blotting papers during the healing process to help prevent this from happening. The constant production of oil could cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result might look more powdered than you would expect.

If you have little to no existing hair, your tattoo will appear more one dimensional than those clients who have more hair naturally.

If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.

If you are iron deficient or Anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.

WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept payment through Venmo, Cash, Debit and Credit Cards. Although we prefer cash.
